Hey, y'all!  It's almost Christmas!!!  I seriously cannot believe that the Christmas holiday is upon us.  I would say that I've been dreaming of a white Christmas, but I live in South Carolina, and normally I can't even wear a sweater on Christmas without, well, sweating.  But when we do get a snow day in January or February, it is GLORIOUS!  With that thought in mind, I created a brand new hand-lettered design that I put on a tee.  Today I've teamed up with Expressions Vinyl to bring you the tutorial, and, of course, I'm sharing the FREE cut file with you so that you can make your own.

As a teacher, there's nothing like waking up to a pre-recorded message that school has been cancelled due to SNOW!  And, yes, it is true that everything shuts down in the South if we get even an inch of snow, so it's so fun to snuggle beside a fire inside and watch those lovely white flakes fall outside and make everything beautiful.  As you can tell, snow days are my favorite, so I thought it would be fun to have a t-shirt to celebrate that.  If you're like me and love snow days, you can make yourself a tee in no time following the tutorial below.  Let's get started!

Easy DIY Monogram Ornament

Hey, y'all!  Are you starting to get into the holiday spirit yet?  I can't wait for Thanksgiving, but I'm most excited for Christmas!  I went to the Southern Christmas Show this weekend, and I have been listening to Christmas music, and, yes, I've even watched a Christmas movie already.  I adore Christmas movies, and one of my favorites is Elf.  Last week, I watched Elf, and while watching it, I hand-lettered the four main elf food groups.  Why?  So I could make a cool Elf-Inspired t-shirt with some festive heat transfer vinyl sent to me by Expressions Vinyl!  And as usual, I'm sharing the free cut file with you so that you can make your own.  As if that wasn't enough awesomeness for one post, I'm also teaming up with the oh-so-talented Alexis of Persia Lou and twenty one other fabulous bloggers to share some really awesome vinyl posts with you in anticipation of Alexis's brand new vinyl course that she's created for Craftsy.  AND--that's right, I'm not done yet--there is a FABULOUS giveaway at the end of the post!

Free Printable Hand-Lettered Stocking Coloring Page

Hey, y'all!  I am officially on Christmas vacation, and I couldn't be happier!  I always have grand plans and lots of ideas for Christmas-themed posts for the blog, and then I never have time to execute all those ideas.  It makes me sad, but I'm starting to learn that it's okay to slow down (if possible) during the holidays and soak in the spirit of Christmas.  And you know what?  I LOVE my blog, but it's a fun hobby, and if it stresses me out and it's not fun anymore, I shouldn't be doing it.  My point is that I'm sorry if I didn't share as much Christmas inspiration as you would expect from me, but I know y'all understand the hustle and bustle of the holidays too.  Anyway, today I want to share a quick free printable coloring page with y'all.  It's a perfect boredom-buster for kids.

I hand-lettered this fun stocking for my DIY Hand-Lettered Stocking Tee that I shared last week.  I knew when I imported my design into Illustrator that it would be a perfect coloring page too, so I tweaked it a bit, and here it is!

DIY Hand-Lettered Stocking Graphic Tee with Free Cut File

Hey, y'all!  I'm SO EXCITED about today's post!  I was invited to participate in a stocking blog hop by Expressions Vinyl to kick of their Rock Your Stockings Competition that's happening on their Facebook page.  The deal was they sent me some Christmas-y heat transfer vinyl, and I, along with several other bloggers, had to come up with a stocking project.  I just love a challenge, so I couldn't wait to come up with the perfect stocking project.  I brainstormed and decided to hand letter a phrase in the shape of a stocking and then create a fun graphic tee.  It turned out exactly as I imagined it in my head!  (I just love when the happens!)  So today I'm showing you how to make your own tee with the free Silhouette cut file later in the post, and I'm sharing links to all the other awesome stocking projects AND there's an awesome giveaway for a $100 gift card to Expressions Vinyl later in the post!

DIY Hand-Lettered Christmas Mugs with Free Cut File

Hey, y'all!  I've been at it again.  At what?  Practicing my hand-lettering skills.  I am a little obsessed with hand-lettering, and I love trying to think of new ways to use my hand-lettering to make freebies for y'all.  Well, with Christmas right around the corner, I decided that it would be fun to use one of my many favorite Christmas movies--Elf--to inspire some hand-lettering.  I converted that hand-lettering to a Silhouette cut file and made two different Elf-Inspired Hand-Lettered Christmas Mugs, and I'm sharing the free cut file with you later in the post!

My husband and I go Christmas movie crazy during the month of December.  We watch soooo many different Christmas movies, but one of our current favorites is Elf.  Yes, Buddy the Elf is a little immature and out of touch with reality, but that's what makes him funny!  I love the little unique figures of speech that he uses in the move, and I thought they'd be perfect on mugs.

Handmade Snowman Gift Tag

 The great thing about this project is that it can be recreated over and over again using the dies, and every tag can look different depending on the paper and embellishments you use to make it.

My Personalized Photo Christmas Cards from Shutterfly

DIY Hand-Painted Watercolor Gift Tags & A Giveaway

I received product from Stampin' Up in exchange for this post, but as always, all opinions are 100% mine! Hey, y'all!  I have a fun post to share with you today!  Christmas is quickly approaching, and unless you've already started on your handmade gifts for the holiday, there's a chance you may not be able to create all the lovely presents you intended.  But that doesn't mean you can't add a handmade touch to store-bought gifts or gift cards.  Today I'm showing you how to make trendy watercolor Christmas gift tags using products from Stampin' Up.  I filmed a video to show you exactly how I created the tags, and if you'll stick around until the end of the post, I'll be giving away several of the items I used to create my gift tags.

Making several gift tags featuring different designs doesn't take long at all.  Plus, the steps to make the tags are really easy to follow.

Recycled K-Cup Snowman Hat Ornaments

Hey, y'all!  I have such a cute project to share with you today.  I have a Keurig machine that my parents gave me for Christmas last year, and every morning I fix myself a cup of coffee before I head out the door to school.  Of course that means I have lots of empty K-Cups to trash or recycle.  I have been itching to find a way to upcyle some of them, and that's how my Snowman Hat Ornaments were born.

These little cuties are pretty easy to make.  You need minimal supplies to create them.
Supply List:

• Used K-Cups
• Empty snack box
• Circle punch
• Black spray paint
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Twine
• Trim & Embellishments
• Scissors
• Craft knife

Of course, the process begins with your used K-Cups.

Tear the foil tops off of the K-Cups and remove the used coffee grounds and the coffee filter.  Wash the cups thoroughly and let them dry.  While they're drying, create the bottoms of the hats.

Cut off the side of a snack box and use the circle punch to create the hat bottoms.

Spray the empty cups and the circles you punched with black spray paint.

Use your craft knife to punch a hole across from the hole already in the bottom of the cup.  Thread a length of twine through both holes and tie knot inside the cup.

Use hot glue to attach the cup to the center of the spray-painted circle.  Once the glue sets, add your trim.  You can glue ribbon around the hat and use a rhinestone and tree table confetti to create holly for a traditional snowman look, or you can add other embellishments to create a nontraditional look.

I used ribbon, lace, rhinestones, stickers, and even book pages to create my unique little hats.

I think the book page and lace hat is my favorite, and the turquoise-y one makes me smile because it reminds me of the movie Elf.  Nonetheless, I am just thrilled with how all of them turned out.

Rudolph Engraved Glass Candle Holder

Hey, y'all!  I feel like I've experimented with a lot of different crafting techniques, but I'm always interested in new crafting experiments.  One thing I've never done before is to engrave glass.  I mean, just the thought of trying to engrave something that can break so easily is a little intimidating.  I recently received a Dremel® Micro™8050, which can cut, carve, engrave, sand, grind, sharpen, clean and polish.  Of course, I just had to use the tool to try out engraving glass.  I was able to easily I create a cute Rudolph candle holder utilizing my new tool.

   You need minimal supplies to create your own Rudolph candle holder, and you can complete this project in less than an hour, which is great for the busy holiday season.

Supplies Needed:

• Dremel® Micro™8050 --The tool comes with different accessories.  You need to attach the engraving accessory.
• Glass Candle Holder
• Small Printed Deer Silhouette Image
• Tape
• Red Rhinestone
• Super Glue

I found the candle holder I used at the dollar store, but you could also check thrift stores or yard sales.  The deer silhouette image I simply found by doing a Google image search.

The very first step to create your engraved candle holder is to cut the printed deer Silhouette to fit your candle holder.  Then tape it on the inside of the glass where you'd like your image to be.

Next, start engraving.  I know, I know.  It sounds like it's really hard, but, y'all, it's not...AT ALL.  The Dremel® Micro™8050 is packed with features that have crafters, hobbyists and DIYers in mind: soft grip, LED front-end lighting to illuminate projects, a docking station that continually charges, and an 8V Max Lithium-ion battery.  The LED light illuminates the glass and the image that you're engraving, and the tool is light and really easy to hold comfortably, which is important for someone like me with small hands.  Hold the tool kind of like you would a pencil (the directions with the Micro show you how) and engrave side to side or up and down or use a combination of the two.  You really don't have to use much pressure at all because the tool does all the work.  Once you think you're finished engraving, remove the printed image from the glass.  Hold the glass to the light to see if you need to soften any edges or make another pass over the engraved image.

Once your deer silhouette is engraved on the glass, you need to attach a red rhinestone for the nose; it is supposed to be Rudolph after all.  Use super glue or another strong adhesive to attach the rhinestone to the deer's nose.  And then?  Your candle holder is complete.  I told you it was a quick and easy project.

The candle holder looks great during the day.

But it looks even better at night with a votive shining behind Rudolph.
