Free Printable Scripture Verse Journaling Cards

Hey, y'all!  If you haven't noticed yet, I LOVE making freebies to share with y'all.  Sometimes I create things I think you'll like, and sometimes I create things for myself that I share with y'all.  Today's freebie falls into the latter category.  I'm sharing some FREE printable Bible verse cards with you!

One of the last Bible studies I did was The Armor of God by Priscilla Shirer.  The study is really great; I highly recommend it.  One of my main takeaways from the study is that being in God's Word daily and meditating on His Word changes our hearts, minds, and lives.  I try to read my Bible daily, although sometimes I fail. But one thing that I haven't done in years is memorize scripture.

Free Worship Devotion + Bible Journaling Printable

Hey, y'all!  As you know, I love Bible journaling, and I love God's Word.  In months past, I have collaborated with other bloggers to bring you free devotions and coordinating Bible journaling printables.  This month, my friend Jennifer Hayes Yates--Christian devotion writer and blogger at One Thing--asked me to write a devotion as part of a three-week series on her blog all about digging deeper with God.  I was so excited that she asked me to write something because I have been wanting to write more lately, and her request was just the push I needed to finally do it.  The topic she gave me was worship, so I set aside a few days to study what God says about worship, and I wrote a devotion entitled "Whole-Hearted Worship."

When I was studying worship to write this devotion, one of the verses I found inspired me to do an entry in my journaling Bible.  You might have seen the page I illustrated on Instagram.

Because people seemed to like the page a lot, I decided to use it as inspiration for some FREE Bible journaling goodies that coordinate with the "Whole-Hearted Worship" devotion.

Good Friday "It Is Finished" Bible Journaling Page

Hey, y'all!  Today is the first official day of my spring break, and I couldn't be happier!  I slept late, and I had a lot of extra time to spend in God's Word, which I loved since it's Good Friday.  I completed a new Bible journaling entry, and I wanted to share it with y'all, along with the heart behind it.  I'm calling it my "It Is Finished" page.

I love to do She Reads Truth devotions daily, and I've really been enjoying the Lent Study.  This week has been focusing on the last few days of Christ's life in real time.  Today, Good Friday, focused on His death.

Free Hand-Lettered Bible Journaling Cards

Hey, y'all!  I have become obsessed recently with three things: hand lettering, watercolor, and Bible journaling.  This week, I found a way to combine all three of my new faves into a fun freebie for y'all: free hand-lettered Bible journaling cards!

 If you do a quick search for #illustratedfaith or #biblejournaling on Instagram, you'll see that people sometimes use journaling cards and small printables in their Bible journaling page designs.  With that in mind, I decided to let a couple of my Bible journaling pages and a couple of verses that I've yet to journal be inspiration for these journaling cards.  (Visit me on Instagram to see the Bible journaling pages that inspired two of the cards.)  I know that not everyone feels brave when it comes to being creative, and I know that some people are more artistic than others.  These are the individuals I had in mind when I created these journaling cards, but, honestly, anyone (even people who don't Bible journal) can use these cards.  And because y'all seem to love my coloring pages, I created some black and white options as well that you can color yourself.  Check them out...

A Bible Journaling Process Video of Proverbs 3:5-6

Hey, y'all!  I am so excited about today's post!  If you follow me on social media, you probably know I love Bible journaling.  A few weeks ago I recorded a Bible journaling process video, and I am thrilled to finally have it edited so that I can share it with y'all today!  This video shows you how I use watercolors, acrylic paint, and stickers to illustrate Proverbs 3:5-6.

One of my most favorite supplies to use when I Bible journal is a cheap set of watercolors.  I love how translucent the paint looks on Bible pages, and it's a lot more forgiving than acrylics.  Yes, you do get your Bible page wet when using watercolors, but if you're careful, the water will do nothing to the page other than make it wrinkled when the paint dries.  I have a remedy for this though: place a couple of heavy books on your shut Bible, and the page will flatten in no time!  Check out how I use watercolors in the video below.

Bible Journaling: A Creative Way to Study God's Word

Hey, y'all!  If you follow me on social media, you've probably noticed that I've fallen in love with a new kind of art: Bible Journaling.  I love being creative period, and being able to pair that with Bible study has really given me a new excitement about studying God's Word.  When I've posted some of my illustrated Bible pages on Facebook and Instagram, I've had some requests for me to share my process, so that's what today's post is all about.  I'm going to show you some of the pages I've done and walk you through my process from start to finish for one page.

Bible journaling has really made me work on my perfectionism.  As an English teacher and book lover, I have a huge respect for books, so I had my journaling Bible for a month before I ever did my first page.  First of all, I was scared that I would mess up.  Second of all, I was scared to mess up a book, and not just any book, a Bible.  After telling myself multiple times that this Bible was purchased solely for Bible journaling and that it's okay if I messed up, I hesitantly did my first page.
