{Transform Plain Wooden Discs into Zebra Earrings}

Hello, lovely ladies!  Last week I shared one of the pieces of jewelry I made for a handmade jewelry swap.  This week, I want to share the earrings I made with you.
I started with two plain wooden discs and a zebra stamp that came from the dollar aisle at Michaels.
I inked the stamp with a black ink pad and then stamped the discs.  The stamp was not big enough to cover the entire discs, so I matched the images up the best that I could.
I then painted the natural part of the disc with turquoise craft paint.  This way I could cover up where the design didn't quite match up.  Then I painted over the stamped image with black paint.
The disc on the left hasn't been painted with the black paint, but the one on the right has.  After everything dried, I inked the edges of the discs and sprayed each disc with clear sealer to protect the paint.  I drilled a hole in each disc and attached earring hooks with jump rings.
I love the turquoise paired with the black.
If you don't like wearing prints, a pair of earrings like this is a way to get a little out of your comfort zone without going overboard.  If you're completely against the zebra print, though, you could use any stamp of your choosing to create a pair of earrings that YOU would love!

    Love this look, did you use a thin paint brush to get in the wood part?

    So here I am reading your blog post and watching burn notice and I had to go back and re-read the last paragraph "If you don't like wearing prints...." and I read it as, If you don't like wearing PANTS..." what the heck? I guess multi tasking is not always a good idea!
